Anthony Villareale Endowed Wrestling Fund
Each wrestler who has participated in wrestling recognizes the importance of maintaining the tradition of excellence that began years ago. An interest producing endowment can provide regular funds which help offset operating budget costs. It provides student athletes with opportunities to travel to challenging competitions, helps pay for workout gear, B-team travel and recruiting.
Jannette Bonrouhi-Zakaim Memorial Fund
The Ithaca College annual alumni cross country run is named in memory of Jannette Bonrouhi-Zakaim ’90, who died unexpectedly on February 21, 2000 in New Jersey. Bonrouhi recorded 10 all-America finishes in cross country and track & field and was inducted into the Ithaca College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1996. In exploring ways to honor Jannette’s tremendous record of achievement at Ithaca College, a memorial fund has been established in her memory. The interest generated each year will help to absorb some of the costs associated with the memorial run and will also be used to benefit the women’s cross country program.
Crew Capital Endowment Fund
The crew endowment fund, started in 1998, has blossomed into an invaluable resource. The initiation of the fund came about to establish long-term security for the crew’s equipment needs. Every oarsman and woman who has participated recognizes the importance of maintaining quality racing shells (and the expense as well). An interest-producing endowment provides regular funds with which to purchase shells and other needed equipment.
Bernard Athletic Coaches Fund
Established by John M. and Florence A. Bernard, this fund enables coaches to develop their professional careers by providing funds for such activities as traveling to meetings and workshops in their particular area of sport. The fund also provides resources for coaches to purchase equipment that enhances their ability to teach their student athletes. Both head coaches and assistant coaches are eligible to apply for such grants, and may receive an award every three years, to allow all coaches a fair chance to benefit from these funds.
Football Capital Endowment
This fund was established by William J. and Helen B. Musto in 2003, through a bequest gift, to benefit the football program in perpetuity.
