ITHACA, N.Y.--Freshman Sean Rossi (Sparta/Sparta, N.J.) of the men's basketball team was named Empire 8 Rookie of the Week on Monday. Rossi, who entered the weekend ranked first in the nation in assists per game, averaged 6.5 in two games for the Bombers.

Rochester, N.Y. – The Ithaca men's basketball team (14-7, 7-5 Empire 8) rallied from a 23-point deficit in the second half to take a lead but eventually lost 91-85 to Nazareth (15-7, 10-3 Empire 8) Saturday evening in Rochester.

Alfred, N.Y. -- The men's basketball team (14-6, 7-4) snapped a two-game losing streak by beating host Alfred () 81-63 Friday. The win gives Ithaca a two-game lead over Hartwick for a spot in the Empire 8 Championship Tournament. The Bombers play a 4 p.m. game at Nazareth Saturday.

Junior Phil Barera (Belmont/Belmont, Mass.) ranks second nationally with a 69.8 field-goal percentage. As a team, the Bomber stand 10th nationally with 84.7 points scored per game.
