ITHACA, N.Y. -- Peter Orlando, a recent graduate of Ithaca College, has been named to the United States National Team that will compete in the 2009 World Rowing Under-23 Championships, to be held July 23-26 in Racice, Czech Republic.The announcement was made Monday by USRowing, the national governing body for the sport of rowing.
Orlando will compete in the lightweight quadruple sculls, one of 21 events for which world champions will be crowned at the Under 23 World Championships.

Cooper River, N.J. -- High winds forced the cancellation of nearly all of the races at the ECAC National Invitational Regatta over the weekend. Ithaca was only able to get two races in, with the second varsity 8 taking second in a five-boat heat and the novice 8 placing third in a five-boat race.

5.3.2009 | Men's Crew
Whitney Point, N.Y. -- The men's crew took home the gold medal in the varsity 8 at the New York State Collegiate Championships over the weekend. Ithaca took second and third in the second varsity 8 competition. The Bombers placed second in the second novice 8 race and fourth in the novice 8 race. thaca also placed first in the team points standings (which combine men’s and women’s results) to earn the points trophy for the third straight year and the 13th time in 17 years.
Ithaca closes its season next weekend at the ECAC National Invitational Regatta.

Pittsford, Mass. -- The men's crew wrapped up its regular season in a six-team regatta hosted by Williams. The varsity 8 and second varsity 8 both placed third in five-boat races.
