ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ithaca softball team earned All-Academic Team honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) after ranking eighth among 411 Division III teams. The Bombers, under Coach Deb Pallozzi, posted a cumulative GPA of 3.458 for the 2008-09 academic year.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Hannah Shalett, a 2007 Ithaca graduate who earned all-America and academic all-America honors as a Bomber catcher, has been named assistant softball coach at her alma mater. Shalett comes to Ithaca from Smith College, where she spent two years as assistant softball coach.

ITHACA, N.Y. – A total of 10 new members have been elected to the Ithaca College Athletic Hall of Fame. The annual induction ceremony will be held Oct. 10, in the Emerson Suites on campus as part of Ithaca's Homecoming Weekend. The 10 inductees represent nine sports. Joining the Hall of Fame will be Sue Bender ’93, Barry Cohen ’80, Michael Ferrara ’80, TJ Gamba ’87, Lisa Gould ’87, Renee Helbok ’99, Chris Matteotti ’96, Margaret Pilling ’81, Todd Stephan ’96 and Nicki Swan ’97.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Three members of the Ithaca College softball team have been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Northeast Region all-star team. Sophomore Brittany Lillie (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Honeoye Falls) was a first-team choice as a utility player, sophomore catcher Kerry Barger (Carmel/Carmel) earned second-team honors and freshman second baseman Annmarie Forenza (Hunterdon Central/Whitehouse Station, N.J.) was named to the third team. As a first-team all-region pick, Lillie advances to the national ballot; the all-America team will be announced during the Division III World Series.

ITHACA, N.Y. – Six members of the Ithaca College softball team have been named to the Empire 8 all-star team, led by sophomore Brittany Lillie (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Honeoye Falls), who was named Empire 8 Player of the Year and freshman second baseman Annmarie Forenza (Hunterdon Central/Whitehouse Station, N.J.), the Empire 8 Rookie of the Year. Lillie was one of Ithaca’s three first-team selections. Sophomore first baseman Courtney Noster (Clearview/Lorain, Ohio) and freshman outfielder Julianna Van Meter (Rome/Rome Free Academy) were also named to the first team. Forenza and junior outfielder Alyssa Guzman (Newburgh Free Academy/Newburgh) earned second-team recognition and sophomore catcher Kerry Barger (Carmel/Carmel) received honorable mention.
