The Ithaca College women’s soccer team (15-4-2) has advanced to the sectional round of the NCAA playoffs. The Bombers, champions of the Empire 8, take on Rowan (17-2-1) at 1:30 p.m. in the seocond of Saturday’s semifinals, with College of New Jersey (18-2-1) facing host Williams (19-0-0) at 11 a.m. in the other. The sectional final is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday.

Geneva, N.Y. -- The #15 women's soccer team (15-4-2) advanced to the third round of the NCAA playoffs, playing #6 William Smith (14-3-3) to a scoreless tie before advancing in penalty kicks by a 5-4 count. The Bombers converted all five of their attempts; the host Herons made their first four tries before their fifth shot missed the net. Ithaca will play either Rochester or Rowan next weekend in a sectional semifinal match at a site and time to be determined; the Yellow Jackets and Profs play their regional final Sunday at 6 p.m. New Jersey will play Williams in the sectional's other semifinal match.
