Nadolski an All-American, Leads Bombers at Nationals
nadolski action

Hanover, Ind.--Behind a 23rd overall performance from senior Lindsey Nadolski (Chapel Hill/Chapel Hill, N.C.)—who earned a spot on the All-America team--the Bombers placed 29th at the NCAA Women's Cross Country National Championship, hosted by Hanover. Nadolski is Ithaca's first cross country all-American since 2006, and her placing was the best for an Ithaca runner since 2000.

Nadolski ran 21:34, setting a new personal best at the six-kilometer distance. She was just one second out of the top 20. Nadolski finished second among Atlantic Region runners, outperforming her third place showing at last week’s Atlantic Regional Championship. She adds All-America honors to a senior season that already included all-conference, all-state, and all-region recognition. She is the 13th different Bomber to be named an all-American in women’s cross country.

Freshman Heidi Baumbach (Lake Placid/Lake Placid) was Ithaca’s second runner, finishing 149th at 22:53. She also set a new personal record, breakign her previous best by 10 seconds. Junior Melanie McCormick (Champlain Valley Union/Williston, Vt.) was at 23:20 for 199th place. Junior Amanda Boccio (Guilderland Central/Albany) placed 217th with a time of 23:28. Senior Kasey Currier (Masconomet/Middleton, Mass.) rounded out the Ithaca scoring, running 23:40 to finish 230th overall.

The other two Bombers competing were sophomore Catherine Ortiz (Newburgh Free Academy/Newburgh) and junior Liz DeLong (Dansville/Dansville). Ortiz finished at 23:53 in 245th place. DeLong placed 269th in 24:21.
