ITHACA, N.Y. -- Sophomore kicker Andrew Rogowski (Canisius/East Amherst) has been honored by the Fred Mitchell Award committee as one of 13 outstanding kickers from Division II and III football. The Fred Mitchell Award, a postseason honor given to the top kicker at the Division II and III level, honored 13 kickers for their athletic achievements and community service for the month of September.
Rogowski has converted all 17 of his extra-point attempts (running his streak to 25, dating back to 2008) and five of seven field-goal attempts. He was named Empire 8 Special Teams Player of the Week (becoming the first kicker to win that award) and earned a spot on D3football.com's Team of the Week following Ithaca's win over Widener. Rogowski, who leads the 3-1 Bombers with 32 points this fall, ranks sixth all-time among Bomber kickers with 88 points. His community service efforts include participation in Ithaca's annual Give-Back Day with local yout football players and visits to the Veteran Adminstration Hospital in Bath.
