Union, N.J. – The women's basketball team (2-2) lost 65-52 to the #11 Kean Cougars in Sunday’s final of Kean’s Cougar Classic.
Junior forward Elissa Klie (Ramapo/Wyckoff, N.J.) scored a team-best 11 points and senior guard Katherine Bixby (Germantown Friends/Philadelphia, Pa.) added 10. Bixby raised her career total to 976 points, leaving her 24 away from becoming the program’s 10th 1,000-point scorer.
Junior forward Blaire Moldenhauer (Albany R III/Albany, Mo.) scored nine points and led the Bombers with 10 rebounds. Both figures were the best of her Ithaca career.
Bixby, who was named to the all-tournament team, led Ithaca with five assists; sophomore guard Jessica Farley (Pine Valley Central/South Dayton) collected a career-best five steals.
The Bombers open their home season Tuesday, hosting Oneonta at 6 p.m. at Ben Light Gymnasium.
