#19 Stevens Wins in E8 Field Hockey

Hoboken, N.J. - The Ithaca field hockey team (5-12) saw its season end with a 5-0 semifinal loss to #19 Stevens Institute of Technology in an Empire 8 semifinal Saturday at Stevens.

The Bombers held the nationally-ranked Ducks scoreless for the game's first 59 minutes. All of the scoring came in the final 11 minutes of play.

Ithaca senior goalkeeper Chelsea Welsh (Scotia-Glenville/Scotia) made 12 saves, including 10 in the first half.

It was the third straight year that Ithaca qualified for the Empire 8 playoffs. They have been in the postseason for all three years that the conference tournament has existed.
