Men's Swimming & Diving Team Remains Unbeaten

ITHACA, N.Y. - The Ithaca men's swimming & diving team (3-0) remained undefeated on the year with a 135-108 win over Cortland (2-1) in a dual meet Saturday at the Hill Center Pool. The Bombers also handed the Red Dragons their first loss of the year.

Sophomore Jeff Rapp (Liverpool/Liverpool) was a double-winner in individual events and was also part of a winning relay for the Bombers. Rapp won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:03.13 and the 200-yard backstroke in 2:01.15. Rapp also swam the second leg of the 400 free relay team that won the event's final meet in a time of 3:17.52. He was joined on that relay by freshman Jake Robbins (Fairport/Fairport), junior Steve Croucher (Dallastown/York, Pa.) and sophomore Antoine Connors (Spartanburg/Spartanburg, S.C.).

Connors won the 50 free in 22.33 seconds. Two Bombers finished in a dead heat to tie for first in the 200-yard breaststroke as junior Jerry Diamond (Junction City/Junction City, Ore.) and freshman Jake Lichter (Weston/Weston, Mass.) touched at 2:22.91.

Ithaca swept the diving events as sophomore Derek Rand (Amity Regional/Orange, Conn.) won the 3-meter event with a score 231.80 and freshman Martin Brown (McLean/McLean, Va.) won the 1-meter with a score of 228.15.

Ithaca also won the 400 medley relay to start the meet as the quartet of senior Matt Carolan (Northampton/Walnutport, Pa.), Lichter, Diamond, and sophomore Tyler Kenton (Milford/Milford, Del.) won in 3:44.84.
