ITHACA, N.Y. – Ithaca men’s soccer senior back Michael Jordhamo (Arlington/Hopewell Junction) earned all-region recognition for the second year in a row. Jordhamo was named to the All-Northeast Region Third Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America following the 2009 season.
Jordhamo earned his second straight all-region selection. He is a three-time Empire 8 all-star, including a First Team All-Empire 8 selection in 2009, his second straight year on the conference’s first team. Jordhamo helped Ithaca to five shutouts as a member of the defense. He had a goal and assist in Ithaca’s 3-0 win over Marywood. Jordhamo appeared in every game of his collegiate career and started 53 consecutive games on defense covering the final game of his freshman year and every game of the following three years. He was also named as Ithaca’s representative on the Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year team, which recognizes players for competing with honor and integrity.
Jordhamo earned his first all-region selection as a junior in 2008 after helping Ithaca record the best team goals-against average in the Empire 8 – three goals allowed in seven games. He was a First Team All-Empire 8 honoree and started every Ithaca game. Jordhamo was also a dangerous offensive threat for the Bombers with his long throw-in ability.
