Hartwick Holds On For 70-61 Women's Basketball Win

Brynn Fessette scored a career-best 12 points

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The women's basketball team (3-8, 1-1 Empire 8) lost 70-61 to visiting Hartwick (3-6, 1-1 Empire 8) Friday. Junior guard Brynn Fessette (Seton Catholic Central/Plattsburgh) scored a career-high 12 points.

The Bombers closed to within two points on a three-pointer by senior guard Erin Sanvidge (Catholic Central/Troy) with eight minutes left, but the Hawks pushed their lead to nine and Ithaca never got closer than five the rest of the way.

Sanvidge led Ithaca with 16 points and four steals. Her four three-point baskets leave her two short of becoming the fifth Bomber to reach a career total of 100. Sophomore forwards Tracy Bradley (Lewiston/Brunswick, Maine) and Molly Friel (North Allegheny/Pittsburgh, Pa.) led Ithaca with six rebounds apiece.

Ithaca hosts Utica Saturday at 2 p.m.
