With 47 points, the Bombers were tied with Nazareth and were nine points behind second-ranked Rochester Institute of Technology. Ithaca went 24-3 in 2008-09, setting a program record for wins. With a 15-1 conference record, the Bombers were regular-season champions in the Empire 8. Botterbusch, an 14-time all-American swimmer, led the Bombers to four Empire 8 championships, a pair of state titles and a 13th-place finish at the NCAA Championships.
