ITHACA, N.Y. – Freshman #Antoine Connors# (Spartanburg/Spartanburg, S.C.) was named Empire 8 Rookie of the Year for 2008-09 after also earning Rookie of the Meet designation at the Empire 8 championships. Connors was a provisional qualifier for the NCAA Division III Championships and won both the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle at the Empire 8 and Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association championship meet. Syracuse, N.Y. – The Ithaca men's swimming & diving team finished second overall in the Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Association and Empire 8 standings following the conclusion of this week's association and conference championship meet. The Bombers wrapped up the weekend by setting two school records and making two NCAA B provisional qualifying standards during Saturday night's event finals. The second-place finish in the association standings is Ithaca's highest since they won the meet in 2004.
